The Warren Animal Clinic PC Team
Dana Sweeton, DVM
I joined the Warren Animal Clinic team in 2011 after graduating from the Michigan State University College of Veterinary Medicine (Go Green!).
I grew up in Milford, MI, having pets throughout my childhood. My dream from as early as I can remember was always to be a veterinarian. During my undergraduate years at MSU I studied Clinical Laboratory Sciences and was a proud member of the Izzone!
My strong veterinary interests include wellness care, emergency medicine, internal medicine, surgery, and orthopedics. My goal is to provide our pets with the best care possible to extend the quality of their lives and our time with them.
Outside of veterinary medicine, I enjoy spending time with my husband, nephews, family, and friends. I also enjoy outdoor activities, traveling, and am an avid Michigan State fan. In my spare time, you can find me cheering on the Spartans at basketball and football games!

In 1977, one of the first Veterinary Technician national exams was offered to people who were endorsed by a veterinarian and who worked for that veterinarian for three years. I was one of those lucky people who qualified for that exam and passed it! Becoming a Veterinary Technician was one of the happiest days of my life. In 1992, I graduated from Walsh College with a degree in accounting which has helped me better understand the business of veterinary medicine.
Through the years, I have witnessed a lot of innovations in technology, drugs, and diets that have dramatically helped to improved the health of our pets. I appreciate being a part of veterinary medicine and look forward to seeing more improvements as we continue to better understand the lives of our pets and the important role they play in our human family.

I had the pleasure of joining the Warren Animal Clinic team in 2005 while finishing up high school. Knowing I loved animals, I then realized that being a Veterinary Technician was what I wanted to do as a career. I graduated from Macomb Community College Technology Program in 2010 and became licensed soon after. The rest is history. I enjoy coming to work every day and helping all the patients that walk in the door as well as their human counterparts.

I grew up on Detroit’s East Side and went off to Michigan State University in 1960. I guess from early on I always wanted to be a veterinarian. In 1966, I graduated from the College of Veterinary Medicine with my DVM degree. Now it was time to get to work. The problem was that I was only 23, so I had to do all I could to look and act older. For the first few years my skill set grew as I worked in three practices in Suburban Detroit, finally landing in one that was the model for the practice I wanted to develop.
On August 2, 1970, I opened Warren Animal Clinic. For the past 46 years, I have operated with the goals . It has been exciting and rewarding. Being in veterinary practice has allowed me to serve wonderful pet parents and patients in need. I also get to work with dedicated and talented co-workers. You will never imagine how skilled and caring they are.
Finally, I wish to thank all of our loyal clients that have supported Warren Animal Clinic PC these 45+ years.
